How to Read Your Attachment Style Result

Your attachment style result is a snapshot of patterns around closeness, distance, conflict, and repair. It is most useful when treated as a starting point for reflection.

Start with the two scores

The quiz uses attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance as two dimensions. Anxiety describes the alarm around possible disconnection. Avoidance describes the alarm around closeness, reliance, or emotional pressure.

The combination of these scores points toward a likely style. Lower anxiety and lower avoidance point toward secure attachment. Higher anxiety points toward anxious patterns. Higher avoidance points toward avoidant patterns. Higher scores on both point toward disorganized or fearful avoidant patterns.

Do not overread the label

A label can be helpful, but it is not a final identity. People can show different patterns in different relationships or during different life seasons.

Use the result to ask better questions: What situations trigger me? What do I do to protect myself? What repair helps? What support or boundaries would make connection safer?

Choose one next step

A useful result should lead to one practical experiment. An anxious pattern might practice asking directly for reassurance. An avoidant pattern might practice naming a pause and return time. A disorganized pattern might practice slowing down decisions while activated.

If relationship distress, trauma, anxiety, depression, or safety concerns are affecting daily life, consider support from a qualified professional.
